The Canadian Conservation Photography Collective (CCPC) was formed in 2021 with the objective of promoting conservation and science education through the production of strong, thought-provoking visual content.
The collective is composed of freelance photographers from across the country and from a wide variety of occupational training backgrounds including biology, education, journalism, social work and business. We believe that working together?combining our strengths, experience, and networks?greatly enhances our ability to shed light on pressing conservation issues and reach, inform, and engage a broader audience.
Position Summary
The Web Developer plays a key role in supporting the CCPC?s online presence, ensuring that our website and digital platforms effectively communicate our mission, campaigns, and opportunities. We are seeking a full-stack web developer who can contribute to both front-end user experience and back-end functionality. This role involves technical website management as well as creative collaboration to enhance the usability, performance, and engagement of our digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining the existing Wix website (theccpc.ca) and creating new pages as required.
- Revise, edit, proofread, and optimize web content for clarity, accessibility, and SEO best practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with photographers, content creators, and communications teams to enhance overall user experience.
- Own various design tasks involved in the web development lifecycle from concept to deployment.
- Regularly update website content, including adding new campaign materials, team member profiles, and volunteer or employment opportunities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues and implement updates to improve site performance.
