Technician / Laborer

Chiquita Canyon Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Technician / Laborer to join the team in Castaic, CA! The schedule is subject to change, but will most likely be Monday – Friday 4am-2pm plus every other Saturday. The starting pay range for this position will be $26-28/hour. The pay range for this job category is $26-30/hour. Your hourly rate will depend on experience and certifications. Duties And Responsibilities - Replacing and repairing valves and tanks used for holding liquid - Moving and securing hoses from trucks to tanks - Communicating clearly with other employees and vendors regarding liquid management - Working with Compliance Manager on other projects as needed Working Conditions And Physical Effort - Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, odors, hazardous materials and/or loud noises - Moderate physical activity, such as walking up and down hills, climbing stairs, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds. - Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following safety precautions and training Minimum Job Requirements - HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) training is highly preferred.
