Surveillance Inspector.

Duties - Monitor open detonation and burning operations in accordance with regulatory guidance. - Monitor the removal of components from an end item making it more efficient and safer to demilitarization. - Inspect out bound and inbound conveyances prior to and after loading to ensure conformity with drawings, regulations, and DOT/UN requirements. - Inspect ammunition storage structures to assure safe storage, identify structural deterioration and monitor correctness of gridding inventory and security practices. Requirements Conditions of employment - Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. - This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position. - This position meets the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening and random testing. - The position requires that the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. - This position requires an Arms, Ammunition and Explosives Security Certification/Screening in accordance with AR 190-11, must be certified in the Technical Transportation of Hazardous Materials every two years and in MILVAN inspection every 4 years. - The incumbent must be certified by requirements outlined in AMC-R 350-4, Training and Certification Program for Personnel Working in Ammunition operations. - The incumbent must satisfactorily complete required hazardous waste training and refresher. - The incumbent is subject to a pre-employment medical clearance examination.
