Solid Waste Technician

General Definition And Conditions Of Work - Physically demanding work involving the collection of solid waste and recycling materials from residential and commercial establishments. - Perform skilled and unskilled heavy manual work, while independently applying Town code and safety considerations in the completion of assigned duties. Education, Experience And Licenses - Completion of a standard high school course, or equivalent GED program. - Minimum of one (1) year experience in an entry level, manual labor position. - Any combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. - Virginia Pesticide Applicator License, Virginia Work Area Protection Certification, OSHA 10 Certification, Virginia Flagging Certification, or the ability to obtain certifications within a year. - Valid driver's license. This position will remain open until filled.
