TITLE: Sanitation Truck Driver
QUALIFICATIONS: High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma. Experience in the operation of a truck with a tri-axle and gross weight of 62,000 lbs.
REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to bend, push, pull, and lift at least 50 lbs.
Must be able to climb ladders.
Must have a current, valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Must hold a current, valid Commercial Driver's License.
Drug Test Required.
Must be able to operate power tools.
Strong work ethic and ability to work well with others.
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Director
JOB GOAL: An employee in this class performs activities such as daily driving of a sanitation truck, visiting multiple public school sites each day to empty trash containers. Visits and navigates the Wayne County Sanitary Landfill to empty the vehicle without issue or supervision. The employee must be able to accomplish tasks without direct supervision each day. The employee is expected to inspect the vehicle and maintain a level of cleanliness of the vehicle each day, and report problems or concerns to their supervisor. The employee will also have to deliver and remove trash containers from school sites if necessary and must be able to perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

- Gather materials to be used.
- Performs pre-trip vehicle inspections such as checking engine oil, hydraulic fluid levels, tire pressures, operation of turn signals, and performs brake checks.
- Maintains the cleanliness of sanitation vehicles at the conclusion of each workday.
Knowledge, Skill, And Abilities
- Skill in the performance of duties relating to the operation of a CDL vehicle in excess of 62,000 lbs.
- Ability to operate from the seat of a vehicle for up to eight hours a day.
