Job Description
EarthCam is seeking a motivated and curious Junior Backend Developer to join our in-house development team. This role focuses on building and maintaining backend services and APIs that power our web applications—primarily using PHP (Laravel)—and supporting reliable data flows between systems.
The ideal candidate is eager to learn, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in writing clean, maintainable code while collaborating closely with engineers, product, and UX teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend features using PHP (Laravel) to support product and business needs
- Build and support RESTful APIs used by internal tools and customer-facing applications
- Work with databases (primarily MySQL) to design schemas, write queries, and improve performance
- Implement validation, authentication/authorization, and secure data handling best practices
- Write clean, testable code; assist with debugging, bug fixes, and production support
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate APIs and ensure smooth end-to-end functionality
