JOB TITLE: Painter Night DEPARTMENT: Maintenance Department REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time SALARY: Based on Experience, $16.07 - $19.19 per hour Minimum Job Requirements Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of a union, private (in-house), or trade school apprenticeship program that includes theory and on-the-job work required; Associates Degree preferred Experience: Minimum of eight years as a journeyman-level painter in a residential, commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting, both interior and exterior. Skills: Must be able to prepare surfaces for painting and finishing; apply undercoats and finish coats using the full range of application methods and materials; mix and match paints and finishes; perform soda and water blasting; advise in the selection and storage of painting materials. SUMMARY: The Painter performs all types of commercial painting work; prepares various surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, burning, sanding, sandblasting or other means as necessary; mixes, matches, and blends various paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, stains and special protective coatings to achieve desired color, consistency, and drying properties; caulks, putties, cements or plasters holes and cracks; erects and uses ladders, scaffolding, and lifting equipment as required; paints buildings, structures, equipment, and furniture using brush, spray gun or other applicator.
