About This Unit We are a 13-bed ICU with the addition of a 4-bed surgical SICU at a Level 3 Trauma Hospital. We are a unit dedicated to innovation and process improvement which lead to the most beneficial patient outcomes. Furthermore, the CCU strives for excellence in workplace satisfaction. All staff members are involved within shared governance programs and are empowered to make several decisions that impact on the unit and patient care. These decisions include but are not limited to (scheduling, staffing, workflow, infection prevention, alterations in patient care models, teaching educational classes, and participating in multidisciplinary team peer reviews). The CCU patient population includes a variety of high acuity patients that require intensive monitoring and critical thinking. We are looking for experienced Nurse Assistants that are willing to add to the exceptional team dynamic and culture that is present in the CCU. Scope of work Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety.
