Overview
The Class A CDL Truck Driver is responsible for transporting hazardous materials (including waste) in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, particularly those set by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). The driver will operate vehicles to deliver hazardous waste to disposal or treatment sites while ensuring the safety of themselves, the public, and the environment.
Responsibilities
- Transport Hazardous Waste:

- Safely operate company trucks to transport hazardous waste materials to designated disposal, recycling, or treatment facilities.
- Ensure that all hazardous waste is correctly packaged, marked, and labeled according to DOT regulations.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all DOT regulations, including maintaining the appropriate hazardous waste management regulations and other state-specific requirements.
- Complete required safety checks before, during, and after transportation to ensure vehicle and load safety.
- Ensure all hazardous materials are stored and transported in a manner that prevents spills, leaks, or accidents.
- Keep records of waste manifests, delivery logs, and other compliance-related documentation.
- Inspection and Maintenance:
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checks on tires, brakes, lights, fuel levels, and load containment.
- Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or incidents to management immediately.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks or report the need for more extensive repairs.
- Responsible for cleanliness of exterior and interior of vehicle.
- Customer Service:
- Maintain professional relationships with customers, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of hazardous waste.
- Assist in coordinating waste pick-up schedules and providing necessary documentation to clients.
